When we finally reach the legal age to begin to learn how to drive, we are so utterly thrilled by the idea that we forget that it takes time to learn how to drive. Then we are disappointed when we realise that you can't just get behind a wheel and drive, you have to be taught how.
Once this disappointment abates we can focus on having a good driving experience. Your first couple of lessons are always a bit bumpy – not because of the car but because you are learning how to use the clutch, and training your body in the masterful art of clutch control.
Patience is definitely needed during this section of learning to drive. But once this is accomplished it gets much easier from there. With the coordination of clutch control you have to add signalling, checking the mirrors and of course watching the road.
When you first start driving on the open road you might become overwhelmed by all the things that you have to keep a look out for. But it very quickly becomes second nature.
But of course then you have to learn what all the road signs mean. All in all it is a bit of work, and it will take time, but the one thing to always remember is to keep your eyes on the road!
