The Regional Resource Saver North West Project reduces waste sent to landfill from business by diverting it for re-use, recycling or composting by community, charitable or not-for-profit groups. The project uses volunteers and builds partnerships.

  1. Reduced disposal costs and waste appraisals

  2. The Chartered Institute of Wastes Management training on the Waste Awareness Certificate at a reduced cost

  3. Help to improve the company profile, when they sign up to Resource Saver with local publicity and regular updates

  4. Create sustainable and rewarding partnerships with the community waste sector

  1. Assist businesses to reduce their waste

  2. Help to create jobs in the Community Sector by increasing donations of resources

  3. Assist with training and skills development

  4. Help support the community and voluntary sector and enable them to  grow and expand their business

  5. Divert resource materials that businesses would dispose of to landfill to Community groups
Some of the materials accepted include:
Bookshelves, Filing Cabinets, Photocopiers, Stationery, Cupboards, Beds and Bedding, Bicycles and Bike parts, Crockery - Cutlery, Kitchen Utensils, Implements, Decorating Equipment- Paint (non toxic) and Wallpaper etc. Electronic Equipment - Stereos, Televisions, Videos, DVD players, Flooring - Carpets, Carpet tiles, Vinyl and Underlay. Furniture - Office and Household, Garden Equipment- Bulbs, Seeds, Patio Furniture, Tools, Ink Cartridges, IT Equipment - Computers, Printers, Monitors, Keyboards, Mice, Cabling, Routers, Mobile Telephones. New/ ex- Retail goods, Oil - Waste cooking oil Play Scrap - anything suitable such as card, feathers, pot pourri, bottle tops, paper/plastic cups, cardboard tubes, wrapping paper etc. Small Electricals - Toasters, Kettles, Microwaves etc. Textiles - Clothing, Uniforms and Shoes. Toiletries Tools - Hand and larger machine tools. White goods - Fridges, Freezers, Cookers (gas and electric), Ovens (gas and electric), Washing machines, Dishwashers.
